RYAN Business Systems History

The opening of RYAN Business Systems Inc. in 1975, was the culmination of a dream for Neil Ryan. A veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, husband, and father of six, Neil had spent over 25 years in the printing systems and duplication field and had become a leader in sales. His knowledge of the industry and his honest business ways had earned him a loyal customer base.

In 1976, RYAN became the first Authorized Canon Dealer in the State of Connecticut. Today, RYAN is one of the most experienced and one of the largest independent Canon Dealers in the region.

As the base of RYAN customers grew, year after year, a second location was opened in 1997, in Milford, CT. In 2015, a third office was opened,  in Woburn, Massachusetts, and in 2017 a satellite location was opened in Concord, NH.

 

The original technical department has grown over the years from a team of 4 to the current team of 16, with an average tenure of over 15 years. RYAN’s Technical longevity can only be exceeded by the tenure of the RYAN Sales Professionals, who average over 18 years with RYAN. The level of sales expertise greatly enhances the way RYAN is able to conduct their business of providing the right solutions for their customers.

Neil’s daughter, Kathy, began her career at RYAN in 1977, and was well prepared to assume the role of President when he passed away in 1984. Within the year, siblings Barry and Joan joined the RYAN team. Each with unique strengths, Kathy, Barry and Joan quickly became/evolved into the management team that has guided them through steady growth over the past 30+ years.

Today, RYAN is one of the largest independent providers of office equipment solutions and software solutions in New England. RYAN is known as an innovative, service-driven company that cares deeply about its customers.

Kathy, Barry and Joan have made every effort over the years to continue their father’s legacy of conducting business in the most ethical way. The RYAN credo is the same today as it was when Neil Ryan started the company over 40+ years ago – market a great product, provide personalized service, and always be accessible to the customer.
